Are vapes legal in Sydney?
Therapeutic vapes may be supplied only through participating pharmacies where clinically appropriate. Non-pharmacy retailers cannot sell vapes.
Can a vape shop sell nicotine-free vapes?
No. The TGA states that it is illegal for non-pharmacy retailers to sell any kind of vape, regardless of whether it contains nicotine.
Do adults need a prescription?
Some adults may be able to access therapeutic vapes with 20 mg/mL nicotine or less from a participating pharmacy without a prescription, if clinically appropriate. A prescription may still be required for higher concentrations, people under 18, or people with more complex medical needs.
Can I import vapes for personal use?
No. The TGA says personal importation of vapes from overseas retailers or websites is prohibited.shop from us
Are therapeutic vapes first-line treatment?
No. The TGA says therapeutic vapes are not first-line treatment for smoking cessation, vaping cessation, or nicotine dependence.
What alternatives can I ask about?
Ask a doctor or pharmacist about registered nicotine replacement therapies, including patches, gum, lozenges, inhalers, and mouth sprays.
